75 percent client recovery rate, target group – TKPO

KOTA KINABALU, March 7, 2023 – The Deputy Director General (Operations) of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin continued the inspection at the Sabah State NADA office and the Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN) in Papar, Sabah on Tuesday.

Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade conveyed the mandate and advice the staff to be able to carry out their responsibilities full of integrity and at the same time told all officers to focus on the main target of 75 percent of clients remaining in recovery.

At the same time, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade warned that NADA Sabah needs to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that have been set, ensuring that five indicators need to be implemented consistently for areas identified as Kawasan Berisiko Tinggi (KBT) to be sustainable within the set period to realize the Controlled Drugs 2025 can be achieved.

During the visit to PUSPEN Papar, Sabah, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade reminded employees to emphasize the safety of PUSPEN area and the implementation of the syllabus through the AADK i-Pulih model which needed to be use holistically to clients.

In addition, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade had time to interact with the staff and visit the facilities of NADA Sabah and PUSPEN Papar, Sabah as well as to inaugurate Taman Lestari as a client therapy site in PUSPEN.

Furthermore, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Mufti of the Sabah State Government, Datuk Ustaz Abdul Manap Lakariba at his office.

The visit aims to further strengthen the already established relationship as well as intensify cooperation between agencies and the Mufti’s Office of the Sabah State Government.

Also,  the implementation of Fardu Jumaat prayers for clients in institutions at the PUSPEN in Papar, Sabah was discussed during the meeting.

Also present were Sabah State NADA Director, Nani Sikin; Chief Assistant Director (Religion), Nor Aimi Mohd Tahir and PUSPEN Papar Director, Roswati Apin.
