PADANG BESAR, May 29, 2023 – The philosophy behind the establishment of the Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) under the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) is not just as a drug addiction rehabilitation center, but rather to teach the true meaning of life.
Perlis Regent Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said that PUSPEN also provides a foundation of knowledge related to spirituality, self-management and life skills to face social rejection, especially to avoid relapsing activities.

“It also rebuilds confidence, skills in the field of work and self-functionality in the real sense of life,” said His Majesty at PUSPEN Bukit Chabang Opening Ceremony here, on Monday.
Furthermore, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said, although there will be cynical and stigmatized view from the minority of people toward efforts to eradicate drug symptoms, NADA remains steadfast in its commitment to implement the enforcement of the Drug Addiction (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
“I hope that NADA will continue to provide a high level of service performance in leading drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation programs in this country,” said His Majesty.
His Majesty said, the successful recovery of drug addiction needs to be carried out collectively and the responsibility cannot be done by NADA alone.
“The commitment and involvement of all parties includes the client himself, all his family members, the local community, departments, non-governmental organizations and leaders at the grassroots level is important,” he said.
Also present was the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and his deputy, Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Director General of NADA, Sutekno Ahmad Belon and Minister of Perlis, Tuan Mohd Shukri Ramli.
