KUALA LUMPUR, February 7th, 2024 – The voluntary treatment and rehabilitation method, which NADA introduced through the Voluntary Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN) successfully attracted the attention of The Republic of Maldives’s National Drug Agency (NDA) during their work visit to Sungai Besi PUSPEN, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday.
The delegation visit led by the Chief Executive Officer of Maldives NDA, Imad Soleh, aimed to witness NADA’s i-Pulih Module recovery process firsthand, especially in the voluntary aspect.
They were welcomed by Norkumala Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Director (International Unit) of NADA, who based the visit on the fifth core of the National Drug Policy (DDN) to enhance international collaboration by fostering strategic partnership.
The session also focused on exchanging the best skills and practices between countries.
Both parties exchanged views and ideas regarding the drug situation in both countries, other than expressing the desire to explore collaboration to enhance prevention education, treatment and rehabilitation, as well as enforcement of drug laws.
Also present was the Director of Sungai Besi PUSPEN, Kuala Lumpur, Nurshuhaila Ab Rahman.
