KUCHING, July 31, 2024 – The Sarawak State Anti-Drugs Action Council (MTMD) Meeting Number 1 of 2024 was held in the Mulu Meeting Hall, 17th Floor, Baitul Makmur 2 Building, Petra Jaya Kuching on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by YB Dato’ Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, and Chairman of PEMADAM Sarawak.

In his keynote speech, YB Dato’ Sri Chairman urged all parties to play their roles and combine efforts in addressing drug abuse issues, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative, integrated, and holistic approach to tackling the drug problem from the ground up.

One consideration paper was approved by YB Dato’ Sri Chairman, titled Solidarity Prevention Program – Empowerment of Registration for Sarawak State Antidrug Squad Members.

Meanwhile, two other consideration papers require further review and detailed examination from various perspectives to aid in drug eradication efforts in the state.

Also present at the meeting were Tuan Khairul Anwar Bachok, Deputy Director General (Operations) of NADA, and Tuan Abdul Hamediee Ibrahim, Director of NADA Sarawak.
