KAJANG, October 24, 2024 – A 3-day operation Op Cegah Khas was conducted by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), which was mobilised by 562 District NADA officers and personnel all over the country targetting high-risk drug addiction areas (HRA).

A total of 1,205 individuals were arrested during the operation. From this number, only 1,043 of them had undergone initial screening tests while the remaining 162 had already tested positive based on the laboratory results obtained earlier.
The main objective of the Op Cegah Khas was for NADA to proactively detect, arrest, and ensure that those involved in drug addiction will be able to undergo the recovery and treatment programme by NADA either in the community or institute based on the recently approved Drug Dependant (Treatment and Rehabilitation) (Amendment) 2024.
Other than that, it also aimed to disrupt the supply-demand network towards illegal substances while also eliminating the drug addiction hotspots in the targetted areas, especially in the identified 155 High-Risk Areas (HRA) all over the country.

NADA Director-General, YBhg. Dato’ Ruslin Jusoh, also came down to Hulu Langat District NADA, Selangor to witness firsthand the process of NADA detaining those involved in drug and substance abuse or addiction.
Also present were the Deputy Director-General (Management) of NADA, Puan Shobah Jamil; Deputy Director-General (Operations) of NADA, Tuan Khairul Anwar Bachok; The Director of Enforcement and Security Division, Azmi Mustafa; The Director of NADA Integrity Unit, Zulfikri Abd Manaf, and Selangor State NADA Director, Nazir Mohamed.
