SEREMBAN, September 24, 2024 – The 2024 Controlled Drugs Programme Initiative report, which was produced as a result of an initiative by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) and Negeri Sembilan State Government, was presented at the Negeri Sembilan Anti-Drugs Action Council (MTMD) meeting today.
The programme is implemented through a method known as “Santuni Untuk keAbsahan” (SUA) via a focused community outreach approach, involving local community surveys, face-to-face interviews, and collaboration of programmes to verify the current status of drug-related issues in the area. This effort aims to intensify efforts to prevent the spread of drug issues within the community.
The main objective of the programme is to achieve the 2024 Controlled Drugs Initiative across all districts in Negeri Sembilan, through work driven by the strong commitment and collaboration of all MTMD chairpersons, departments and agencies, community leaders, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the district level.
As of September 2024, SUA has gone through phase 1, which involves cleansing, and phase 2, which involves intervention. The focus for 2025 will be phase 3, which includes strengthening and maintaining efforts.
This report was presented by the Negeri Sembilan NADA Director, Dr. Hadijah Baba, during the Negeri Sembilan MTMD meeting chaired by the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun.
